Brothers, George and Charles Ohman, and their families were first introduced to the field of long term care in 1964 by friends from Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The first phase of their new calling was the purchase of a ranch style home they named HOLLY HILL. It overlooked the beautiful East Branch Reservoir and Grandview Country Club in Middlefield, Ohio. That original building was a modest nine-bed facility, but after 40 years of quality care and service, the Ohman’s original venture has grown considerably. HOLLY HILL now boasts 76 Skilled Nursing beds, 18 Assisted Living and four Independent Living units plus a full range of services and staff.
In 1969, George Ohman was joined in the long-term health care business by partner Don Gray, a long time friend he had met through his church. Together they have turned the original HOLLY HILL facility into a triumvirate of family owned and managed long-term care facilities – HOLLY HILL…A Healthcare Community in Newbury; BRIAR HILL HEALTHCARE RESIDENCE, in Middlefield, and BLOSSOM HILL CARE CENTER in Huntsburg. With a powerful sense of empathy and earnest Christian values, the tradition of compassionate care begun by George Ohman and Don Gray is now being carried on by each respective family’s second generations.
George Ohman’s sons, George, Jr. and Andy, serve as the administrators for HOLLY HILL and BRIAR HILL HEALTH CARE RESIDENCE respectively; Don Gray’s son, David, is the administrator for BLOSSOM HILL CARE CENTER.
Today, HOLLY HILL is a Health Care Community combining elegant living with a continuum of care. Each resident enjoys the pleasure of beautiful views and lovely décor which enriches the daily provision of care. The approach to our care is guided by the Christian values of Honesty, Integrity, Loyalty and Love. The desire of our facility is to provide a continuum of care that stems from a love of God and those He created which elevates our care beyond mere legal duty. The goal of our family is to meet individual’s needs in an environment where each life is celebrated.
